The KENNAMETAL 5413256 is a VBMT331LF KCP10B screw-on turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 35-degree diamond insert shape with a positive rake angle of 5 degrees and a 5-degree relief angle. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer MTCVD coating system consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN layers under the KCP10B grade designation. This coating sequence is engineered for thermal resistance and wear life in continuous and interrupted cut applications. The cutting edge is honed for consistent edge integrity, and the LF chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation at moderate feeds and depths.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K), making it applicable across a broad range of general machining and production turning environments.
