The KENNAMETAL 5387919 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation WNMG433RP and ISO designation WNMG080412RP, designed for metal cutting operations in CNC and manual turning applications. Manufactured in the KENLOC series, it features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN applied via MTCVD process, delivering high wear resistance on steel and cast iron workpieces. The insert carries manufacturer grade KCP10B, uses a negative rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge, and provides six usable cutting edges per insert. The 80-degree trigon shape and RP chip breaker geometry are optimized for roughing and medium machining operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron in both production and job-shop environments. The KCP10B grade offers high wear resistance for steel (ISO P workpiece class) and moderate wear resistance with toughness for aluminum and non-ferrous materials (ISO N workpiece class). It is held by clamp or pin-style toolholders and is compatible with KENLOC-series insert seats. The neutral hand orientation makes it usable in both right-hand and left-hand toolholders where the seat geometry permits.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series turning toolholders that accept WNMG433 (ANSI) or WNMG080412 (ISO) inserts with clamp or pin retention. Suitable for multi-use turning, facing, and boring operations. Compatible workpiece materials include steel (ISO P) and aluminum and non-ferrous materials (ISO N), with cast iron as a primary application material.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret or toolpost is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Clean the insert pocket and seating surfaces before installation to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure. Torque clamping screws according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications; do not substitute fasteners.
