The KENNAMETAL 5351893 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and 6 flutes with a right-hand spiral and close pitch configuration. The cutting edge measures 1-1/2 inches in length of cut with a 4-inch overall length and a matching 3/4-inch shank diameter. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness for extended tool life in high-speed and hard-material applications. This end mill is classified as a finishing tool in the UJDE series and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in precision metal-cutting environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing operations on ferrous metals, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in CNC machining centers. The single-end, centercutting geometry allows plunge entry and side milling. The Safe-Lock shank type provides positive pull-out protection in high-feed or high-torque applications. The short length-type classification and high-helix flute geometry make it appropriate for stable, close-tolerance finishing passes on hardened or difficult-to-machine workpiece materials. It is compatible with hydraulic chucking systems as noted in the compatibility section below.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeves (inch bore, inch shank), HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves (metric bore, inch shank), HC-HSK Form A toolholders, and the Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify that the Safe-Lock shank seats fully and evenly in the hydraulic chuck or collet holder before tightening to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation; excessive runout at the cutting diameter will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality on finishing cuts.
