The KENNAMETAL 5351826 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.12 inch corner radius, and six flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with close pitch. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, this single-end, centercutting tool delivers stable material removal with reduced chatter in finishing operations. It belongs to the UJDE series and is built to submicron carbide material grade standards.
This end mill is suited for finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components, superalloy and titanium workpieces, and hard material applications in both mold-and-die and aerospace-adjacent machining environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, supporting ramping and helical interpolation strategies. The 1/2 inch Safe-Lock shank is compatible with HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, and ER single angle standard collets, making it adaptable to common toolholding setups found in CNC machining centers. The 38-degree high helix promotes chip evacuation during finishing cuts in difficult-to-machine alloys.
Compatible toolholding systems include HC-HSK Form A, HC-CV Form AD, and ER single angle standard collets. Intended for use in CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard material workpieces per material application codes P, M, S, and H.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe state. Verify toolholder runout and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Confirm that the selected collet or chuck is rated for the 1/2 inch Safe-Lock shank diameter. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended cutting parameters for the target workpiece material and coating class.
