The KENNAMETAL 5351820 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.12 inch corner radius and six flutes in a close-pitch, right-hand spiral configuration. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection when cutting hard materials at elevated surface speeds. With a 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, this single-end, centercutting tool is sized for precision finish passes in production machining environments. It is installed and applied by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing.
This end mill is part of the KENNAMETAL UJDE series, which targets finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in these material families. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard end mill toolholders, making it compatible with common CAT, BT, HSK, and shrink-fit setups. It is suited for light radial engagement finishing passes, profiling, and contour milling where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentration on the workpiece edge.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (material codes P, M, S, H). Part of the KENNAMETAL UJDE series.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the toolholder is clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a six-flute geometry. Verify spindle speed and feed parameters against KENNAMETAL UJDE series cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when taking full-depth axial passes.
