The KENNAMETAL 5351814 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding material removal and finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Built to UJDE series specifications, it features a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius and six flutes ground from submicron carbide stock. The AlTiN physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating provides heat resistance and tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. Single-end, center-cutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral cuts. This tool is suited for CNC machining centers running tight-tolerance finishing passes where edge integrity and dimensional stability are critical.
This end mill is used in precision machining applications on CNC vertical and horizontal mills. Its close-pitch, right-hand spiral flutes and high helix angle make it well matched to finishing cuts in steel and exotic alloys where surface finish and corner definition matter. The straight cylindrical shank is compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeve metric holders with inch bores. The standard-length configuration suits typical production and job-shop setups where tool stickout and rigidity are balanced for finishing work.
Compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeve metric holders with inch bores. Designed for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per UJDE series application guidelines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into the hydraulic sleeve or collet chuck and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a test indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on multi-flute carbide tooling.
