The KENNAMETAL 5351811 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves surface finish on finishing passes. Six flutes with a close pitch and high-helix spiral geometry promote efficient chip evacuation while maintaining rigidity at full depth. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This is a single-end, centercutting design with a 1-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length, sized for use in vertical machining centers and CNC milling setups handled by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The 5351811 is designed for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry suit standard spindle rotation. The 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores as specified by the manufacturer. The standard-length configuration and close-pitch fluting make it well suited for profiling, contouring, and finishing passes where tight tolerances and smooth surface finish are required. Material grade is submicron carbide substrate for added wear resistance in high-hardness workpieces.
Compatible with HC 20M through HC 32M hydraulic sleeves metric with inch bores per manufacturer specification. Belongs to the UJDE series. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, S, H).
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using an appropriate toolholder torqued per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Confirm shank seating and runout with a dial indicator before cutting to prevent premature edge wear. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine configuration.
