The KENNAMETAL 5327938 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation VPGR331FP and grade KCM25. It features a multilayer CVD coating — TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied by MTCVD — designed to deliver high toughness on steel and moderate wear resistance on stainless steel. The insert carries a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a positive side clearance. With a 1/64-inch corner radius and an FP chip breaker geometry, it is engineered for finishing operations. Machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops use this insert for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications.
