The KENNAMETAL 5059745 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the UGDE series platform, it features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and five flutes with a high helix spiral geometry. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials. With a 2.25 inch length of cut and extended reach geometry, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. It is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The extended reach length of 2.25 inches supports deep-cavity and shoulder milling where standard-reach tooling cannot reach the workpiece. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical shank, designed for normal pitch and non-centercutting applications where plunge entry is not required.
Designed for use with HC-HSK Form A, Hydraulic Chuck Standard Line Inch KM63XMZ, and HC-CV Form AD toolholding systems. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H). Not designed for centercutting or plunge entry operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool carousel or turret must be in a safe index position before changing tooling. Verify that the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the 3/4 inch straight shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout reduces tool life and surface finish quality, particularly with tight-tolerance corner radius tooling.
