The KENNAMETAL 5059740 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the UGDE series platform, this single-end tool features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.06 inch corner radius, and 5 flutes with a high helix angle of 43 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-heat cutting conditions. At 6 inches overall length with a 3-1/8 inch length of cut, this is an extra-long reach tool suited for deep-cavity and extended-reach milling operations. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling specialist installs and qualifies this tool.
The 5059740 is engineered for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extra-long reach and 3-1/8 inch extended reach length make it well suited for deep-pocket milling, rib machining, and stepped-cavity work where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeve toolholders with inch bores, as well as HC-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Compatible with HC 1/2 through HC 1-1/4 hydraulic sleeve toolholders with inch bores and HC-HSK Form A toolholding systems. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Material designation codes P, M, K, S, and H apply.
Installation of this tool should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Confirm spindle and toolholder runout before seating the shank in any hydraulic or mechanical chuck. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing the end mill. Do not exceed toolholder torque specifications published by the toolholder manufacturer, and verify shank seating depth meets the minimum engagement requirement for the toolholder in use.
