The KENNAMETAL 5059459 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the UGDE series platform, it features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and 5 right-hand spiral flutes with a high helix angle of 43 degrees. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting at elevated speeds. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, this is an extra-long reach tool suited for deep-pocket and contour work. It is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running production or job-shop operations.
This end mill is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank design with a 1/4 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collet systems. The extended reach geometry supports deep-cavity milling where standard-length tools cannot reach, making it a practical choice for mold work, aerospace components, and precision part machining. It supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, reducing changeovers in multi-pass programs.
Designed for use with HC-CV Form AD and ER single angle standard collets. Compatible with primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (superalloys and titanium), and H (hard materials).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool changer disengaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet. Ensure the collet and holder are clean and within manufacturer runout tolerance before seating the shank. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut for the selected operation type.
