The KENNAMETAL 5052004 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to the AADE series specification, it features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. The 5 inch overall length and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard end mill toolholders. With a submicron carbide grade and bright uncoated finish, this tool is suited for roughing operations where sharp edges and high chip clearance matter. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary installers.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metals, corresponding to material application code N. Its extra long length of cut at 3 inches allows access to deeper features and pockets that standard-length end mills cannot reach. The coarse pitch, high helix spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation at higher feed rates. The center-cutting design allows the tool to plunge directly into a workpiece, enabling ramping and helical interpolation entry strategies without a pre-drilled hole. It is a single-end tool with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Intended for machining non-ferrous metals. Part of the KENNAMETAL AADE series with manufacturers catalog number 4K2313075C.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Ensure the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and torque the set screw or collet to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating cuts. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine spindle specifications.
