The KENNAMETAL 5052002 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 0.06-inch corner radius that blends the cutting edge for improved surface finish and edge strength compared to a square end profile. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a high helix style supports efficient chip evacuation. The bright uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. CNC machinists and toolroom operators use this end mill for profiling, slotting, and roughing passes where corner radius geometry is specified.
This end mill fits standard straight-cylindrical end mill toolholders with a 0.5-inch bore. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as cut on the periphery. The coarse pitch and 3-flute configuration make it appropriate for higher material removal rates in non-ferrous roughing operations on vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and CNC knee mills. The 4-inch overall length gives adequate reach for most standard milling fixtures without sacrificing rigidity.

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle stopped and all motion fully arrested. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder or collet to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide end mills are brittle and should not be used if edge damage is visible. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and ANSI B11 series guidelines for speeds, feeds, and workholding when setting up milling operations.
