The KENNAMETAL 4169806 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to UEDE series specifications, it features a 3/16-inch mill diameter and a 19/64-inch length of cut, making it well suited for tight-tolerance slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at elevated feeds. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC tool room technicians. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and tool holders common to VMCs and manual milling machines.
This stub-length end mill is suited for applications where rigidity is critical and tool overhang must be minimized. The short overall length of 1-1/2 inches reduces deflection during aggressive side milling or slotting in hard materials. Centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry, adding versatility to the operation. The KENNAMETAL material grade KC643M is optimized for cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It is a single-end tool intended for use in production and tool room environments where consistent dimensional accuracy is required.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill in the KENNAMETAL UEDE series, compatible with standard 1/4-inch collet chucks and end mill holders used on CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Install and torque the end mill holder to the spindle according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications before starting the spindle. Verify collet condition and cleanliness to ensure proper shank grip and runout performance. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Confirm cutting direction and spindle rotation match the right-hand flute orientation of this tool before engaging the workpiece.
