The KENNAMETAL 4169516 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 21/64 inches (0.3281 inches) length of cut and a matching 0.25 inches shank diameter, giving it a stub-length profile suited for rigidity in tight setups. Three spiral flutes with a 38-degree helix angle improve chip evacuation and reduce chatter. An AlTiN coating enhances heat resistance and wear life, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Material grade KC643M provides the substrate toughness needed for demanding cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in standard end mill holders or collet chucks.
This end mill is suited for light roughing and finishing passes on ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials in CNC machining centers or manual knee mills. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling with coolant or dry. The stub length-of-cut geometry keeps deflection low when working in shallow-pocket or close-tolerance work, making it a practical choice for die and mold work, general part production, and tool room use.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill in the KENNAMETAL UEDE series. Fits any standard 0.25 inches collet, end mill holder, or hydraulic chuck accepting a 0.25 inches shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC tool setters. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended grip depth and torque the retention hardware per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, and confirm spindle direction matches the right-hand cut designation of this tool.
