The KENNAMETAL 4151809 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It measures 2.80 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. Overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches), with a 22.00 mm flute length and a straight cylindrical shank of 4 mm diameter. The right-hand spiral flute geometry follows DIN 6537K specification. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual drilling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It is suited for short-hole drilling applications up to a maximum depth of 17.00 mm (0.6693 inches), consistent with its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. The DIN 6537K designation makes it a recognized standard geometry for European and internationally aligned machining operations. It is sold as a single unit and is appropriate for both production shops and precision repair work where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed as a DIN 6537K standard jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines accepting a 4 mm straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are clean and properly secured before inserting the shank to prevent runout. Solid carbide drills are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be used in setups with excessive vibration or lateral loading. Cutting parameters including speed and feed should be set per the material being drilled to avoid chipping the cutting edge.
