The KENNAMETAL 4151799 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. The bit measures 2.40 mm (0.0945 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree split-point tip geometry that reduces walking and minimizes thrust on entry. Overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches). The 2-flute regular spiral configuration provides efficient chip evacuation, and the straight shank seats directly in standard drill chucks or collets. This bit is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals in metal fabrication and production machining settings.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The TiN finish extends tool life in higher-volume applications by reducing friction and wear at the cutting edge. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm (0.6693 inches), this bit is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in moderate-depth applications on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines. The tapered web configuration adds rigidity and point strength at small diameters.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 4.00 mm (0.1094 inch) straight shank. Primary workpiece materials listed by the manufacturer include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. Conforms to DIN 6537K specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotary cutting tool practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify shank seating and chuck torque before beginning any drilling cycle. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 17.00 mm without retracting to clear chips, as carbide tooling at small diameters is susceptible to breakage under side load or chip packing.
