The KENNAMETAL 4151745 is a taper length drill bit engineered for precision small-diameter drilling in demanding production environments. Built from solid carbide grade KC7325 and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish, this bit delivers heat resistance and wear life well beyond standard HSS tooling. It runs a 140-degree split point for accurate self-centering and reduced thrust force on entry. The 2.3 mm diameter and 8xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio make it well-suited for deep, tight-tolerance holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation is handled by machinists and tooling technicians working in CNC drilling, gun-drilling setups, or production machining cells.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups requiring small-diameter, deep-hole capability. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into collet-style toolholders. With a maximum drilling depth of 22 mm and a flute length of 26 mm, it covers standard deep-drilling applications within its size range. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in high-feed or interrupted-cut conditions. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a direct fit in toolrooms that standardize on that geometry.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling addition for CNC machining applications requiring a DIN 6537K taper length drill bit with a 4 mm straight cylindrical shank and 2.3 mm cutting diameter.
This drill bit is installed and replaced by machinists or tooling technicians. Seat the straight shank fully into a precision collet or toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a production run. Power down or e-stop the machine spindle and confirm zero rotation before changing tooling. Do not use this bit in chucks that cannot hold the 4 mm shank diameter within specified tolerance, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise hole diameter accuracy.
