The KENNAMETAL 4151141 is a solid carbide screw machine length (stub) drill bit sized at wire gauge No. 3, equal to 0.2130 inches in diameter. Built to DIN 6537K specification, it features a 140-degree standard point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip for heat and wear resistance in demanding drilling applications. The straight cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches) in diameter. Overall length is 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches). The two-flute, right-hand spiral design with a tapered web provides efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting extended tool life in deep or high-cycle drilling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this bit.
This drill bit is intended for precision metal-cutting applications where a short, rigid drill body is required. The stub length format reduces deflection in screw machine, turret lathe, and CNC machining center setups. The TiAlN tip coating makes it well suited for drilling alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials at elevated surface speeds. The coolant-through design supports both flood and high-pressure through-spindle coolant delivery, making it appropriate for production drilling environments where cycle times and tool life are critical.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide stub drill for use in screw machines, CNC lathes, and machining centers with straight-shank toolholding systems accepting a 6.00 mm (0.2362 inch) shank diameter. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B051A-CPG.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that coolant pressure is set to the machine specification before running at full cycle speed.
