The KENNAMETAL 4151081 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in metal and hard materials. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip, this bit delivers extended tool life and resistance to heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust and promotes self-centering on entry, making it well suited for precision hole-making in production environments. At 62.00 mm overall length with a 20.00 mm flute length, this stub-length geometry provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length drills, minimizing deflection in tight setups. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and CNC operators.
This drill bit is designed for use in screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, drill presses, and high-speed production drilling applications. The straight cylindrical shank with a 6.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The right-hand spiral flute configuration evacuates chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. Coolant-through capability supports internal coolant delivery for deep-hole and high-feed applications where heat management is critical. Maximum drilling depth is 14.00 mm, making it appropriate for short, precise holes in ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or production drill for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B051A-CPG stub drill family.
This bit is installed by machinists and CNC operators using standard chuck or collet toolholding systems rated for the shank diameter. Verify spindle RPM and feed rate against the material being drilled before operation. Ensure the coolant-through circuit is properly connected if internal coolant delivery is required. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to improper handling or interrupted cuts.
