The KENNAMETAL 4150740 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 10.10 mm (0.3976 inch) cutting diameter and a 140-degree point angle suited for work-hardened and hard-to-drill materials. The multilayer TiAlN coating provides heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and high-feed applications. Overall length is 118.00 mm (4.6457 inches), with a 71.00 mm (2.7953-inch) flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 56.00 mm (2.2047 inches). Conforming to DIN 6537K, this drill is installed by machinists and tool-room professionals running CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in production and job-shop settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. The straight cylindrical shank with a 12.00 mm shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks on CNC and manual machines alike. Right-hand spiral flutes direct chips away from the cutting zone on standard right-hand spindles.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K, suitable for use in collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 12.00 mm straight cylindrical shank across CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a locked-out, zero-energy state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck before tightening to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; carbide is brittle and chipped edges should be cause for replacement rather than continued use. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so ensure adequate external flood or mist coolant is directed at the cutting zone when drilling steel or stainless steel.
