The KENNAMETAL 4150715 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. Ground to a 140-degree split point, it delivers self-centering entry and reduced thrust compared to standard 118-degree geometry. The multilayer TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended edge life in abrasive and hard materials. With an overall length of 4.0551 inches and a flute length of 2.4016 inches, this 21/64-inch diameter drill follows DIN 6537K standards and is suited for use in CNC machining centers and production drilling environments. Installation and operation are typically handled by machinists and tooling technicians.
This drill is intended for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous metals. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute design promote efficient chip evacuation in these materials. It is a right-hand cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.6250 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems used in vertical machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes. It does not feature coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling ferrous materials.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials per the manufacturer specification. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet toolholders accepting a 0.6250-inch straight shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where jobber-length carbide drills are specified.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Confirm the shank is fully seated and secured in the chuck or collet holder to the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping procedure before operation. Because this drill does not have coolant-through capability, apply external cutting fluid or coolant at the cutting zone when working ferrous materials to manage heat buildup and extend tool life.
