The KENNAMETAL 4150663 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking applications. Ground to a 140-degree split point, it reduces walking and lowers the thrust required to break through hard materials. The multilayer TiAlN coating extends tool life by resisting heat buildup at elevated cutting speeds. At 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) in diameter, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC machining center toolholders equipped with a whistle notch shank interface. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with production or job-shop equipment.
The 4150663 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both production and maintenance environments. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and consistent surface finish in through-hole and blind-hole applications. With a flute length of approximately 1.732 inches and an overall length of approximately 3.228 inches, it handles standard jobber-depth holes in plate, structural stock, and machined components. No coolant-through capability is present, so external flood coolant or cutting oil is recommended when drilling ferrous materials.
Designed as a high-performance OEM-style jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment that accept a 3/16 inch whistle notch shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a de-energized and locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Secure the whistle notch shank firmly in a compatible toolholder or chuck to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping method before operation. For ferrous materials, apply external flood coolant or cutting oil to manage heat and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use — carbide is brittle and a damaged edge can fracture under load.
