The KENNAMETAL 4150640 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit ground to a 140-degree point angle and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish for extended tool life in demanding applications. Sized to wire gauge 29 (0.1360 inches decimal), it features a standard two-flute regular spiral design with a tapered web configuration that promotes chip evacuation and point strength. Overall length is 2.598 inches (66.00 mm), with a 1.102-inch (28.00 mm) flute length and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.4375 inches in diameter. Right-hand cutting direction. Built to DIN 6537K specification. Intended for installation by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth through-hole and blind-hole work in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 0.906 inches (23.00 mm). It is a solid carbide high-performance grade bit, appropriate for shops running higher spindle speeds and tighter tolerances where HSS tooling falls short.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant solid carbide jobber drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.4375-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and properly torqued to the tool holder manufacturer specification before operation. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 0.906 inches without retracting to clear chips. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; use external coolant or cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material.
