The KENNAMETAL 4150328 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in metal and hard-material applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish at the tip, it delivers extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The bit features a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and self-centering entry, a 2-flute regular spiral configuration, and an overall length of 4.2126 inches (107.00 mm). The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.5512 inches (14.00 mm) in diameter. This bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and maintenance technicians working with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines.
This drill bit is suited for stub-length drilling operations where rigidity and minimal deflection are priorities. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in short-hole applications. It carries a maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches (43.00 mm), making it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in production environments. The Series B041A-CPG designation places it within a family of solid carbide stub drills conforming to DIN 6537K specification. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Applications include general metalworking, precision component manufacturing, and high-volume production drilling where tool consistency and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant stub drill for use in standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks accepting a 14.00 mm shank diameter. Compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines configured for right-hand cutting tools in the 0.5000 to 0.6000 inch drill bit size range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the toolholder collet or chuck is rated for the 14.00 mm straight shank before seating the bit. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm to avoid tool breakage or workpiece damage. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or struck against hard surfaces.
