The KENNAMETAL 4150319 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and cast materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN at the tip, this bit delivers exceptional wear resistance and heat dissipation at elevated spindle speeds. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust force and walking at entry, making it well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production environments. At 4.2126 inches overall length with a 1.6929-inch maximum drilling depth, the stub configuration provides rigidity and minimizes deflection in short-reach applications. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and precision toolroom technicians are the primary users of this tooling.
The 4150319 is used in production machining and job shop environments where stub-length rigidity is required over jobber-length reach. Its 1/2-inch diameter and straight cylindrical shank accommodate standard drill chucks, collet holders, and hydraulic toolholders with a matching bore. The Series B041A-CPG designation covers a family of solid carbide stub drills built to DIN 6537K specification, making this an appropriate replacement for worn or damaged tooling within that series. Right-hand cutting direction suits conventional CNC and manual drilling setups.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before resuming production. Avoid hand-grinding carbide tooling without proper diamond wheel equipment, as improper regrinding will alter the point geometry and void dimensional conformance.
