The KENNAMETAL 4150296 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN (TiN tip) finish, this bit delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split-point geometry reduces thrust and improves self-centering on entry. At 10.80 mm in diameter with a 102.00 mm overall length (approximately 4.016 inches), this bit suits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where a rigid, short-flute tool is required. It is intended for installation and use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
The 4150296 fits standard machining operations targeting a 10.80 mm hole diameter in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and stub-length body provide rigidity in tight setups and short-reach applications. The straight cylindrical shank at 12.00 mm diameter seats in standard ER collet chucks, drill chucks, and hydraulic toolholders. Maximum drilling depth is 40.00 mm (approximately 1.575 inches). This bit is well suited to production drilling environments where tool stability and hole-location accuracy are critical. It conforms to DIN 6537K geometry standards.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant stub-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines accepting a 12.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG and sized for the 9.50 mm to 11.00 mm drill bit diameter range.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm shank diameter compatibility with the collet, chuck, or toolholder before seating the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond tool ratings, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces, as chipping or fracture can result.
