The KENNAMETAL 4150265 is a screw machine length (stub) solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537K specification, it features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and reduced thrust, a multilayer TiAlN coating for extended tool life under heat, and a right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry. The 8.90 mm cutting diameter and 10.00 mm straight cylindrical shank accommodate precision drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installed and operated by machinists and tool-room technicians, this bit suits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine applications where stub-length rigidity is required.
The 4150265 is suited for stub-depth drilling operations where shorter overall length improves rigidity and reduces deflection. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 47.00 mm flute length support chip evacuation at moderate-to-high feed rates. Typical applications include production drilling of steel, cast iron, and similar materials in job-shop and automated manufacturing settings. The tapered web configuration adds point strength and aids self-centering on entry.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant stub-length drill bit in the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG, compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines equipped with collets or chucks accepting a 10.00 mm straight shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before securing the shank, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades hole quality. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed guidelines for solid carbide tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
