The KENNAMETAL 4150232 is a stub-length (screw machine length) twist drill bit ground from solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN multilayer coating. It measures 6.50 mm in diameter with an overall length of 79.00 mm (3.1102 inches) and a 140-degree split point that reduces walking and penetrates work-hardened surfaces with less thrust than a conventional 118-degree geometry. The straight cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks in that size range. Designed for right-hand cutting with two regular spiral flutes and a tapered web, the 4150232 is suited for production drilling in CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and screw machines where rigidity and hole accuracy are the priority.
This drill bit is intended for use in metalworking applications including drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous materials where a short, stiff flute geometry controls deflection in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. The maximum drilling depth is 24.00 mm (0.9449 inches), consistent with the 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio of the B041A-CPG series. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production CNC operators are the primary users. It conforms to DIN 6537K geometry standards, which specify the stub-length profile, web taper, and point configuration common in European and global precision machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-specification stub-length drill bit in the KENNAMETAL B041A-CPG series, conforming to DIN 6537K. Compatible with any machine spindle or toolholder accepting a straight cylindrical shank of 8.00 mm diameter.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual machine tool operation. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before running; inadequate shank engagement can cause pullout under cutting load. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated spindle speed and feed parameters for the work material and coating type. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use — carbide is brittle and chipped edges should not be run.
