The KENNAMETAL 4150211 is a screw machine length (stub length) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal and hard materials. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN coating applied at the tip, this bit delivers extended tool life in demanding production environments. It measures 2.5984 inches in overall length with a 5.10 mm (0.2008 inch) cutting diameter and a 140-degree point angle for fast, self-centering entry with reduced thrust. The straight cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders. It is suited for machinists, tool and die makers, and production floor technicians working with precision hole tolerances.
This drill bit is intended for stub-length drilling applications where rigidity and reduced deflection are priorities over deep-hole reach. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 28.00 mm flute length support chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes, with a maximum rated drilling depth of 20.00 mm (0.7874 inches). It is well-suited for drilling in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and similar ferrous materials on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. The tapered web configuration adds point strength and helps maintain accuracy at entry. This is a single-piece unit conforming to DIN 6537K specifications.
Designed as an OEM-specification stub-length drill bit in the KENNAMETAL B041A-CPG series, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter. Fits within the 5.00 mm to 6.50 mm drill bit size range category per DIN specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Confirm the toolholder or chuck is rated for the 6.00 mm shank diameter before securing. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be forced or used to pry material; run at manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use and replace if chipping or wear is observed.
