Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 4150210 is a solid carbide screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for high-productivity drilling in metal, alloy, and engineered material applications. It features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry and a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip to extend tool life under heat and abrasion. The bit measures 5.00 mm in diameter with an overall length of 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) and a flute length of 28.00 mm. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. Machinists and toolroom professionals specify this series for short-reach drilling where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are priorities.

This drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines in production and job-shop environments handling ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar difficult materials. The stub-length body reduces deflection in tight setups. With a straight cylindrical shank diameter of 6.00 mm and a shank length of 36.00 mm, it seats securely in standard ER collet chucks and drill chucks sized for that shank diameter. It performs to DIN 6537K specification, making it compatible with metric tooling systems used across North American and European manufacturing facilities.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction for maximum rigidity and wear resistance in hard materials
  • 140-degree point angle promotes self-centering and reduces thrust force at entry
  • TiAlN tip coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting conditions
  • Stub (screw machine) length body minimizes deflection for tighter hole tolerances
  • Right-hand regular spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation
  • Conforms to DIN 6537K specification for consistent metric tooling compatibility

Compatibility

Designed for use in standard ER collet chucks, keyless drill chucks, and toolholders accepting a 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the Kennametal B041A-CPG series, sized for applications within the 5.00 mm to 6.50 mm drill diameter range per DIN 6537K.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 6.00 mm shank diameter to prevent runout. Do not exceed the maximum recommended drilling depth of 20.00 mm without retracting to clear chips, as this is a non-coolant-through design.
