The KENNAMETAL 4150201 is a screw machine length (stub length) drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN coating at the tip, this bit delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed drilling operations. The 140-degree point angle provides aggressive cutting action and reduces thrust load. With an overall length of 66.00 mm (2.598 inches) and a 4.40 mm cutting diameter, this bit is sized for close-tolerance work in tight-reach applications. It is suited for machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is designed for use in screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, and drill press applications where short, rigid tooling reduces deflection and improves positional accuracy. The stub-length design limits overhang and increases rigidity compared to standard jobber-length bits. The straight cylindrical shank diameter of 6.00 mm (0.236 inches) accepts standard collet chucks and tool holders. It is commonly used in production environments where repeatable hole quality and dimensional consistency are required across high-cycle operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option within the KENNAMETAL Series B041A-CPG stub-length carbide drill family, covering the 3.50 mm to 5.00 mm diameter range per DIN 6537K.
This drill bit should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator using the appropriate collet or chuck rated for the 6.00 mm shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Do not exceed the maximum recommended drilling depth of 17.00 mm per the 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against material hardness recommendations before engaging the cut.
