The KENNAMETAL 4150160 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to Series B041A and conforming to DIN 6537K specifications, this wire gauge Size 30 bit measures 0.1285 inches (3.26 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and reduced thrust. The overall length is 2.44 inches (62.00 mm), making it well-suited for short-hole, high-cycle applications where rigidity and repeatability matter. A titanium nitride (TiN) tip coating extends cutting edge life on abrasive workpiece materials. Licensed machinists, tool room technicians, and production drilling operators are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in screw machine and CNC drilling operations. The screw machine length format provides enhanced stability over jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in tight-tolerance hole applications. With a straight cylindrical shank of 0.2362 inches (6.00 mm) diameter and a flute length of 0.787 inches (20.00 mm), this bit fits standard collets and chucks used in turret lathes, screw machines, and machining centers. Maximum drilling depth is 0.551 inches (14.00 mm).
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill for use in screw machines, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.2362-inch (6.00 mm) straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys per Series B041A application specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool room technician familiar with cutting tool setup procedures. Ensure the spindle and machine are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout is within tolerance before commencing a drilling cycle. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.551 inches without retracting to clear chips, as this is a non-coolant-through design.
