The KENNAMETAL 4149652 is a taper length drill bit engineered for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN finish, this bit delivers heat resistance and wear life well beyond standard high-speed steel tooling. It measures 0.2656 inches (17/64 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle for aggressive, self-centering entry. The overall length is 4 inches (105 mm), and the flute length runs 2.6378 inches (67 mm). Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production operators working in ferrous and hardened materials rely on this geometry for consistent, repeatable results.
This drill bit is suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where straight-shank tooling is required. The Series B053A-CPG designation places it in a product family optimized for taper-length reach in confined bores and deep-feature work. With a maximum drilling depth of 2.2441 inches (57 mm) and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD, it handles moderate-to-deep hole cycles without excessive tool deflection. Coolant-through capability makes it well-matched to high-feed, high-spindle-speed programs where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical to surface finish and tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production cutting tool within the KENNAMETAL B053A-CPG series, compatible with any straight-shank toolholder or drill chuck accepting an 8 mm shank diameter.
This tool is installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before changing or inspecting the bit, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state per your facility lockout/tagout procedure. Seat the straight shank fully in the collet or chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coolant configuration.
