The KENNAMETAL 4149595 is a taper length drill bit in the B053A-CPG series, designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN coating, this drill delivers excellent wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The wire size 30 diameter measures 0.1285 inches, with an overall length of 3 inches and a flute length of 1.5748 inches. The 140-degree standard point angle reduces thrust and promotes accurate entry, making it a reliable choice for production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. CNC machinists and tooling specialists are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for high-precision hole-making in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking environments. The straight cylindrical shank and 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders on CNC machining centers and drill presses. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, which is particularly useful when drilling at depth in tougher alloys or when maintaining tight tolerances. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, ensuring dimensional consistency for controlled production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production drill in the KENNAMETAL B053A-CPG series, suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups equipped for straight-shank tooling.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck to the recommended grip depth before tightening. When using internal coolant, verify coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the material and depth being drilled before beginning the cut.
