The KENNAMETAL 4149593 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit in the B053A-CPG series, designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN coating and a KC7325 material grade, this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in difficult-to-machine materials. It features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) diameter, a 140-degree standard point angle, and a spiral flute with a tapered web configuration. The straight cylindrical shank and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC setups. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabrication professionals.
This drill bit is suited for taper length drilling operations where an extended flute is needed beyond a jobber length configuration. With a flute length of 40 mm (1.575 inches) and an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it handles deeper bore entries with improved chip evacuation. The maximum drilling depth is 33 mm (1.299 inches). Coolant-through capability supports high-speed and high-feed operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Applications include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling setups in manufacturing, aerospace component fabrication, and tool shops.
Designed as an OEM-style taper length drill bit in the B053A-CPG series. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and CNC tool holders accepting a 6 mm (0.2362 inch) shank diameter. Specific machine or system compatibility should be verified against your setup requirements.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle and chuck are free of debris and the spindle is fully stopped and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the full shank engagement depth to prevent runout. Coolant-through setups require that coolant lines be purged and verified before initiating a drilling cycle.
