The KENNAMETAL 4149356 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. Ground to a 140-degree point angle with a standard point geometry, this drill features a regular spiral flute and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With an overall length of 5.2362 inches and a flute length of 3.2677 inches, it delivers consistent accuracy at a 39/64-inch (0.6094 inch) diameter. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators install this drill in precision drilling applications where carbide rigidity and coating performance are required.
This drill is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, reducing heat buildup and chip evacuation issues in deep-hole operations. With a maximum drilling depth of 2.4803 inches and a 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio, it performs reliably in both through-hole and blind-hole applications on CNC machining centers and drill presses. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, making it a recognized standard-compliant tool for industrial use.
Designed as a standard-fitment jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups that accept a straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.2344-inch shank diameter. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys as stated in the product specifications.
Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet, drill chuck, or hydraulic holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the drill. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 2.4803 inches without retracting to clear chips, particularly in non-through coolant setups.
