The KENNAMETAL 4149344 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding production environments. It features a 14.50 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the integrated coolant-through capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge. This drill is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production equipment where dimensional accuracy and long run life are required.
This jobber drill is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials in both light and heavy manufacturing applications. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collet chucks and drill chucks without adapters. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 63.00 mm, making it appropriate for through-hole and moderate blind-hole applications in production machining. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-selection solid carbide jobber drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight cylindrical shank tooling in the 12.50 mm to 15.00 mm drill diameter range. Compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks sized for a 16 mm shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this drill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with carbide tooling. Before mounting, confirm the machine spindle and chuck are clean and free of debris to prevent runout that can chip carbide cutting edges. Enable coolant-through supply before initiating the cut, and verify that coolant pressure is appropriate for the machine setup. Carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used in machines with excessive spindle runout or in applications requiring hand-feeding without controlled feed rate.
