The KENNAMETAL 4149338 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 14.00 mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved centering, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 124.00 mm (4.882 inches) with a 77.00 mm (3.031 inches) flute length. Two regular spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently in the materials this drill is designed to cut. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-room professionals using CNC machining centers, drilling machines, and manual drill presses.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous alloys. It complies with DIN 6537K geometry, making it a direct fit for tool holders and collet systems dimensioned to that standard. The straight cylindrical shank has a diameter of 14.00 mm (0.4375 inches), compatible with ER and straight-bore collet chucks in that bore range. Coolant-through capability supports both internal coolant delivery for deep-hole applications and flood coolant at the spindle. Maximum drilling depth is 60.00 mm (2.362 inches) at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drilling machines equipped with straight-bore or ER collet toolholding systems dimensioned for a 14.00 mm shank. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys per DIN 6537K application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 60.00 mm in a single pass without retracting to clear chips.
