The KENNAMETAL 4149325 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and reduced thrust, paired with a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and heat-intensive applications. The drill measures 12.90 mm (0.5079 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 124.00 mm (4.8819 inches) and a flute length of 77.00 mm (3.0315 inches). It conforms to DIN 6537K geometry. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators typically deploy this drill in production and job-shop environments where consistent hole quality and tool longevity are required.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling cycles, and the coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, reducing heat buildup and chip evacuation issues in blind and through-hole applications. The straight cylindrical shank (14 mm diameter) seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders, making it compatible with a wide range of CNC machining centers and manual drill presses used in precision manufacturing.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or collet systems accepting a 14 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures applied. Verify that the shank seats fully and is properly torqued in the collet or chuck before initiating a cut cycle. Coolant-through connections should be confirmed before use if internal coolant delivery is required. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide drills are brittle and susceptible to damage from improper handling or interrupted cuts.
