The KENNAMETAL 4149319 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bit carries a multilayer TiAlN coating, a 140-degree split point, and a right-hand regular spiral flute geometry. It measures 4.8819 inches overall length with a flute length of 3.0315 inches. Rated to a drill bit diameter tolerance of -0.0007 to 0.0000 inches, it holds tight dimensional control for precision hole work. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC and manual drilling operations where tool life and hole quality are critical.
This jobber drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 31/64 inch cutting diameter and straight cylindrical shank allow straightforward chuck mounting in standard drill presses, machining centers, and CNC turning equipment. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it well suited for deeper hole applications where heat buildup and chip evacuation are concerns. It conforms to DIN 6537K specification, which governs solid carbide drill geometry and dimensional tolerances.
Designed for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. Straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and ER-style collet systems. Conforms to DIN 6537K geometry specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Verify chuck or collet runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates carbide breakage. Confirm that the machine spindle and coolant system are rated for the feed and speed parameters required by the workpiece material and drill diameter. Carbide tooling is brittle - avoid side loading or using the drill as a reamer.
