The KENNAMETAL 4149315 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 12.00 mm diameter with a 140-degree point angle optimized for fast penetration and reduced thrust in harder materials. The multilayer TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. At 118.00 mm overall length with a 71.00 mm flute length and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this drill handles depth requirements common in precision machining and general metalworking. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills.
This drill is suited for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration support chip evacuation and center stability during entry. Its coolant-through design makes it compatible with through-spindle coolant systems, which improves performance at elevated cutting speeds and when drilling deeper holes.
