The KENNAMETAL 4149312 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. It features a 11.80 mm (0.4646 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree point angle for self-centering entry and reduced thrust, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 118.00 mm (4.6457 inches) with a 71.00 mm (2.7953 inch) flute length, and it includes a coolant-through design that delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing will find this drill suited to high-speed, high-feed applications.
This drill is designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It conforms to DIN 6537K geometry and fits the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm drill diameter range. The straight cylindrical shank with a 12 mm shank diameter and 45 mm shank length mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders. A maximum drilling depth of 56.00 mm (2.2047 inches) makes it effective in through-hole and blind-hole operations across a wide range of workpiece materials encountered in production machining.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 12 mm shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this drill should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and true before seating the shank, as runout will accelerate carbide chipping. Verify that the coolant-through supply is active and at adequate pressure before engaging the cut. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid edge chipping from impact with hard surfaces.
