Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 4149308 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit ground to an 11.50 mm diameter with a 140-degree point angle. It carries a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life when drilling abrasive and heat-generating materials. The overall length measures 118.00 mm with a 71.00 mm flute length, providing the reach required for standard jobber-depth holes. A straight cylindrical shank with a 12 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and toolholders. The right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry promotes consistent chip evacuation, while the tapered web configuration adds rigidity at the cutting tip. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or maintenance environments.

This drill is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials, making it suitable for a wide range of metalworking applications. The coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone, supporting higher feed rates and extended tool life in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance in moderate-depth drilling operations. Maximum drilling depth is rated at 56.00 mm.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction with multilayer TiAlN coating for heat and wear resistance
  • 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved center-starting accuracy
  • Coolant-through design delivers fluid directly to the cutting edge
  • Right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry for consistent chip removal
  • Straight cylindrical shank with 12 mm diameter fits standard chucks and ER collets
  • Conforms to DIN 6537K specification for dimensional consistency

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks, ER collet systems, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 12 mm shank diameter, suitable for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the drill. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the coolant supply pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
