The KENNAMETAL 4149305 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It measures 11.20 mm (0.4409 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a multilayer TiAlN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The overall length is 118.00 mm (4.6457 inches), and the two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration evacuates chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. This drill meets DIN 6537K specifications and is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling environments where consistent dimensional accuracy is required.
This drill is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. It is a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio tool, making it appropriate for moderate-depth drilling applications. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet holders. Internal coolant-through capability allows cutting fluid to be delivered directly to the cutting zone, making it well suited for tight-tolerance production work and difficult-to-machine alloys where heat buildup is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or production-grade jobber drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses capable of accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys per manufacturer specification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips before inserting the shank. Confirm collet or chuck runout is within tolerance before operation, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on solid carbide tooling. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before engaging the cut.
