The KENNAMETAL 4149304 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. It features a 140-degree point angle, multilayer TiAlN coating, and a right-hand, regular spiral flute configuration. The drill measures 0.4375 inches (7/16 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 4.646 inches and a flute length of 2.795 inches. The straight cylindrical shank, 0.1406 inches in diameter, seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC setup technicians install this drill for production and maintenance drilling applications where tool life and hole quality are critical.
This jobber drill is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both production-floor and job-shop environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports efficient chip evacuation at standard jobber depths. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, making it effective in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with through-spindle coolant. The DIN 6537K specification designation confirms dimensional conformance to that standard. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical machining setups requiring consistent, repeatable hole diameters in tough workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber drill conforming to DIN 6537K for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and similar equipment fitted with standard straight-shank toolholders or collet chucks accepting a 0.4375-inch diameter shank.
Installation and use of this drill should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before loading or removing the drill from the toolholder. Verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and degrades hole tolerance. Do not use this drill to ream, side-mill, or pry; carbide is brittle and will fracture under lateral loading.
