The KENNAMETAL 4149277 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. It features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and self-centering entry, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The 9.80 mm diameter bit has an overall length of 103.00 mm and a flute length of 61.00 mm, with a straight cylindrical shank of 10 mm diameter. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This drill is manufactured to DIN 6537K standards and is typically installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC or manual drilling setups.
This drill is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 49.00 mm. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, making this drill appropriate for deep-hole and high-speed production drilling cycles where heat and chip buildup are primary concerns. It is commonly used in metalworking shops, production machining environments, and maintenance repair operations requiring close-tolerance hole diameters.
Designed for use in toolholders and chucks accepting a 10 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials per the manufacturer specification. Conforms to DIN 6537K standards for jobber-length carbide drills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout with an indicator before beginning a production cycle. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm without retracting to clear chips, particularly in blind-hole applications.
