The KENNAMETAL 4149260 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 140-degree split point for reduced thrust and self-centering on entry, a multilayer TiAlN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry for efficient chip evacuation. The overall length is 103 millimeters with a flute length of 61 millimeters. This drill is sold individually and is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and metalworking tradespeople running CNC or manual drilling operations.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications relative to diameter. Coolant-through capability makes it appropriate for high-speed machining centers where internal coolant delivery is available. It follows DIN 6537K specification geometry, making it a recognized standard in industrial tooling environments. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without adapters.
Designed as a direct-fit jobber drill for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual drilling setups capable of internal or external coolant delivery when drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is locked out before inserting or removing the drill from the chuck or collet. Verify shank seating depth and runout within machine tolerance before beginning a cut. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for appropriate feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
