The KENNAMETAL 4149250 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 7.80 mm (0.3071 inch) cutting diameter and a 140-degree split point. It carries a multilayer TiAlN coating and meets DIN 6537K specification, making it a high-performance option for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The two-flute, right-hand spiral design runs coolant through the body to manage heat and chip evacuation in demanding applications. Overall length is 91.00 mm (3.5827 inches) with a 53.00 mm (2.0866 inch) flute length. Licensed machinists and maintenance technicians working on CNC or manual drilling equipment are the primary installers of this tooling.
This drill is suited for precision hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth drilling to a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (1.6929 inches). The straight cylindrical shank with an 8 mm (0.3125 inch) shank diameter seats in standard drill chucks or collet holders. It is well matched to through-coolant spindles where higher feed rates and longer tool life are priorities.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-spec solid carbide jobber drill for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting an 8 mm shank. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the chuck or collet holder and verify runout before engaging the cut. Through-coolant pressure and feed rate should be set per machine and material parameters - do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm per plunge.
