The KENNAMETAL 4149237 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production and job-shop environments. It features a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) diameter, a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved self-centering on hard materials, and a multilayer TiAlN coating that extends tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.4688 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 3.5827 inches (91.00 mm). A right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry evacuates chips efficiently while the tapered web maintains rigidity through the cut. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and industrial maintenance techs are the primary installers and operators of this drill.
This drill is suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Coolant-through capability makes it well-suited for deep-hole drilling where thermal management is critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 53.00 mm flute length support a maximum drilling depth of 1.6929 inches (43.00 mm). Conforming to DIN 6537K, this drill is built to a recognized international standard for jobber-length carbide drills and is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses running appropriate cutting speeds for the workpiece material.

Install and remove drill bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and the machine is in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify that the drill chuck or collet is rated for the shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable limits before beginning the cut. For coolant-through applications, confirm that the machine spindle coolant system pressure is compatible with the drill before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the drill if damage is found.
